Day 36 - 02/05/13

I'm always excited to see the migrating birds wintering in our area.  I've seen few American goldfinches and a lot of pine siskins this year.  But I'm always saddened to see the sick and weak ones fall.  This golden finch didn't seem to feel well and another sickly pine siskin didn't have the strength to fly into the trees and stayed on the ground near the azalea bush.  Always a heartbreaker for me.

"For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s." ~Romans 14:8

It always saddens me when a bird flies into one of our windows. Sometimes the bird is only stunned, but most times ... well, you know what I mean.

It is sad to see these little birds be sick, but I have to remind myself that this is the cycle of life.

the stressers they endure in migration and weather and daily life, i'm surprised we don't see more.
