Day 25 - 01/25/12

I found this tree blooming along Highway 43 in Satsuma.  The flower is about the size of my open hand, but I don't know what it is.  I'm guessing it's some type of magnolia.

A girl from the south I would think you'd know your magnolias. Regarding the Bluebird, I wasn't that close; just a good lens. But I do think these bluebirds were used to having people around as it was in a campground. And if you are enjoying the night shots, I think you'll really like tomorrow's. Thanks for your comments.

I thought magnolia as soon as your photo loaded. Whatever it is, it's so delicate. Wonderful shot.

Cette fleur conviendrait parfaitement à la robe d'une mariée.
Bonne journée, Laura!

My first guess would be a magnolia of some kind BUT...I'm from Pennsylvania so what would "I" know about magnolias? :) Gorgeous shot!

i like how papery it is. i'd guess some sort of magnolia, too, although we get those huge 'as big as your head' blooms here.

No idea what that flower is Laura, but it's striking.

Lovely photo of the goldfinch - enhanced by the texture. Early sign of spring ?

And a great story of that old house (and southern gentlemen !), accompanied by very interesting shots.
