Day 17 - 01/17/12

I told you last year that I became frustrated with PhotoShop, uninstalled it from my computer, and started using Picnik.  I decided to give it another try with the help of a little e-course given by Kim Klassen.  Tonight I learned how to add texture in PS Elements 10.  This is the finished product.  It's not perfect, but I'm beginning to understand a little more how PS works.

Lovely teapot!
Don't give up on Photoshop, its a complicated program but eventually it starts to make sense!

Don't get frustrated Laura, photoshop is one of the best programs around. I use version Photoshop CS3 and love it. There are multitudes of tutorials, on the net, around that can help you.

I don't own photoshop, or anything like it, but I'm going to have to give in soon I think. My main problem with it is when photos are no longer recognizable as photos, but look more like paintings.
I like what you've done with this one, it looks natural! Nice job...

Ive thought about buying one of those super skinny ecourses from KK... are they any good? Well they MUST be cause you've managed to creat a piece of artwork with texture. well done! Its lovely. The key is choosing the right texture to begin with and then blending it in the right mode -- so many possibilities.

It's gorgeous. I tend to overdo textures but this is great. I took her skinny mini free course and am enrolled in the Text Kitchen. It's fun to learn Photoshop. I'm fixing to take a Raw class from Damien Symonds for some more do-it-myself skills.

Gorgeous! I'm slowly learning PSE, BUT still haven't grasped the art of texture. Enjoy Kim's class... it's definitely a good one!

Looks like here little skinny-mini course is serving you well. I have learned several little tips and tricks and honed some others in it. Nice job here Laura.

I think it's beautiful Laura, and kudos to you for giving Photoshop another try. Whatever you do, just be sure to "play" a lot. Once you have the basics down, you truly learn so much that way.

The simple things in life... love what you did. Working with texture and photoshop is one on my goals for this year.
Thank you so much for your comment and for believing in me.
